Formation of Microencapsules from Microemulsion

Formation of Microcapsules by Microemulsion:

Emulsion are formed in layers with different solvents and emulsifiers such as Oil in Water ( O/W), Water in Oil ( W/O) , Water in Oil in Water (W/O/W) Oil in Water in Oil (O/W/O), Solid in Oil in Water (S/O/W) and Solid in Water in Oil (S/W/O).

The formation of oil-in-water-in-oil (O/W/O) emulsions can be achieved by utilizing an emulsifier to bridge the organic with the inorganic solutions so it can have an encapsulation functionality.  Encapsulation of the microemulsion can take place by solvent evaporation (i.e, spray drying), or by dilution with water.
